History of the Mair am Ort Living
The old farmhouse Mair am Ort existed already back in the 15th century and is simply part and parcel of the history of Partschins. That's why we never wanted to undergo wholesale changes or tear the house down. Our father, Ubald Schiefer, my father in law, started in the 60's with thoughts of transforming the farmhouse into a guesthouse. Back then, it was the first house in the village with shower and toilet facilities in all rooms. For several years my parents in law ran the place, lots of guests came and went. Then the house was let out for several years, until I finally came onto the scene. Being from an old farm, Sittnerhof in Meran and having grown up as a hotelier's daughter and with more than 20 years of successful experience in the fashion industry, it brought me back to my roots. The love of nature and tradition made me make the move to it. My husband Martin inherited the farm. I had a lot of ideas and a feeling for design and a stylish way of life so together we put some new life back into Mair am Ort giving it a new shine and palpable hospitality. Martin is the real boss and together with son Andreas who is a graduate of the hotel school, they run our Restaurant Buss´l & more on the village square in Partschins in summer and the Apres-Ski Buss´l in the Schnalstal Valley in winter. Our daughter Claudia is now actively supporting us after successful years in the fashion industry, in the morning at the breakfast service and in the afternoon in the office. Now I dedicate my passion to being a good hostess. I look forward to it on a daily basis, being able to personally look after our guests. Mair am Ort has become our passion.
